Idaho Rocky Mountain bull (male) elk skull. 14" in length. Professionally BEETLE cleaned, degreased, and whitened. This skull is from a subadult elk. This male elk was approximately 12 months old at time of death. Antler nubs ate just developing. The rear-most molars are still dropping in! If you look closely, you can see the adult I1 incisors pushing though underneath the baby teeth. Has complete nasal turbinate structures. The pterygoid processes are absent. Has intact tusks that are white in color and are still dropping in. This skull has been sprayed with a clearcoat finish to keep oils from your hands and dust from discoloring the bone. A very neat skull of a younger age class. Nice white color.
